As the Software Development Team Lead, you will lead a team of six developers (three full-stack and three AI engineers) working on two internal products, with the potential to expand the team in the coming years. You will set technical direction, guide architecture, system design, and governance, while building a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and technical excellence. You will also drive the responsible adoption of AI, both in the products you build and across the software development lifecycle.

Experience

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.

• 5+ years of full-stack software engineering experience (ASP.NET with React or Angular).

• 3+ years in a Solution Architect, Software Architect, or Principal Engineer role, including 2+ years delivering production AI solutions (not just prototypes).

• 2+ years as a software engineering team lead or in a similar role.

• Experience working directly with clients and senior technical stakeholders.

Technical Skills

• Experience designing AI agents, tool-calling workflows, or multi-step AI orchestration.

• Hands-on experience with at least one major LLM platform, such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, AWS Bedrock, or Azure Foundry/OpenAI.

• Experience integrating systems using APIs, SQL and NoSQL databases, and enterprise integration patterns.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, asynchronous processing, and event-driven architecture.

• Strong backend engineering background, with the ability to integrate AI capabilities into complex existing systems.

Leadership and Communication

• People-centric approach and strong team-building skills, with a passion for building high-performing teams and helping people grow. Proven ability to create alignment, foster psychological safety, give actionable feedback, and develop engineers through coaching and mentorship.

• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Team Leadership

• Lead and grow a team of six engineers across two products, setting clear expectations and fostering a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.

• Partner closely with the Product Owner, Project Manager, and Business Analyst to translate business requirements into technical delivery.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders across the business to align on priorities, data ownership, standards, and outcomes, and to maximize impact.

Engineering and Architecture

• Provide technical leadership across the team’s architecture and system design, including batch and streaming ingestion, data modelling, data quality, and governance. Dive into complex problems, help the team navigate trade-offs, and remove technical obstacles.

• Set architecture standards and governance and mentor engineers on technical practice.

• Champion engineering best practices, driving continuous improvement in code quality, operational excellence, development processes, and technology evolution.

• Lead architecture reviews for AI initiatives and validate solutions proposed by the engineering team.

• Create architecture documentation, reference architectures, technical guidelines, and reusable AI patterns.

AI Strategy and Delivery

• Drive AI adoption across the SDLC, including AI-assisted design, coding, testing, review, documentation, and CI/CD, and measure its impact on productivity and quality.

• Select appropriate AI models, providers, platforms, and infrastructure based on business, technical, security, latency, and cost requirements.

• Define AI evaluation frameworks, quality metrics, monitoring, observability, and feedback loops.

• Design safeguards and guardrails to improve the reliability, security, privacy, and explainability of AI systems and to promote responsible use.

• Address AI-specific risks, including hallucinations, prompt injection, data leakage, model misuse, and unpredictable behavior.

• Experience designing systems that work with sensitive or regulated data.

• Experience implementing human-in-the-loop AI workflows.

• Experience defining technical standards across multiple engineering teams.

• Active certifications from Microsoft and Claude in the scope of Azure, AI, Software development.

• Strong understanding of security, privacy, access control, and data governance in AI systems.

• Architect AI solutions across common enterprise patterns: copilots, RAG and document intelligence, conversational AI, workflow automation, and multi-agent systems.

• Design AI agents with tool calling, memory, orchestration, and human-in-the-loop controls — and know when not to make something autonomous.
